The NBA has been going on for quite a while now, meaning we’ve seen generations of superstars dominate in their time.
Obviously, that makes older fans believe that the good old days were the better, whereas younger fans tend to lean toward today’s stars.
That’s why it’s not surprising to see that Dwyane Wade has always considered Michael Jordan to be the greatest player of all time, and he recently doubled down on that statement.
Wade told Rob Schaefer of NBC Sports Chicago (via Legion Hoops) that as great as LeBron James is and regardless of everything they went through together, Jordan will forever be his GOAT.
Dwyane Wade:
“Michael Jordan is my GOAT… LeBron will be the goat for a lot of generations. I started playing the game because of Michael Jordan. He will be my GOAT until the day I pass away.”

He added that some people will think James is the GOAT, and that’s fine, but Jordan was his biggest influence growing up as a young man with dreams of becoming a hooper.
That makes perfect sense, and it’s not like he should say that James is the GOAT just because he’s friends with him and they used to play together.
Wade was born and raised in Chicago and grew up playing the same position as Jordan, so it’s only natural to think that he might have been heavily influenced by him and tried to mold his game to his.
At the end of the day, there will never be an objective way of determining who was the better player, and the beauty of this sport is that there are just so many factors to consider that you could make a case for at least half a dozen guys as the best to ever do it.
