The Philadelphia Eagles fell apart down the stretch last season and lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they failed to repeat their Super Bowl run from the previous year.

The defense took a step back and in order to improve this season and look more like the 2022-23 defense, some of the young guys will need to make the leap, and one notable defender is clearly putting in major work this offseason.

Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane shared some insight from noticeably thinner defensive tackle Jordan Davis, who said “I’m getting in the best condition of my life” and said that he is currently around 350 pounds and believes that he looks different more so than the fact that he lost weight.

Davis started all 17 games last season but played only 45 percent of the team’s snaps, and new defensive coordinator Vic Fangio wants him on the field more often.

The lineman changed his diet this offseason and focused more on his conditioning as he heads into his third season after saying he played at above 350 pounds last season.

He said he gave up Arizona beverages, which have been a favorite of his for a long time.

His improved conditioning should help him sustain success throughout the season, as last year he had 2.5 sacks, five QB hits, two tackles for loss, and a forced fumble over the first seven games before putting up zeroes in each category in the final ten games of the year.

Davis looks great and should continue to improve his physique in the coming months before the season starts.
