With the start of the 2024 NFL season right around the corner, with games officially underway on September 5, with the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs getting started as the season opener, every team in the league needs to make cuts to finalize their rosters.

One team that has gotten a lot of attention lately has been the Philadelphia Eagles, with the team coming off a disastrous end to the 2023 campaign but a promising NFL offseason, resulting in the team bringing in superstar running back Saquon Barkley, formerly of the division-rival New York Giants.

With Barkley now in the fold and Philadelphia seemingly making all the right moves during the offseason, the Eagles might be able to bounce back with a vengeance in 2024, but the team will have to make some tough roster decisions before Week 1.

On Monday, the team announced via its Twitter account that it had parted ways with four players, the most notable being quarterback Will Grier.

Even though the Eagles are Jalen Hurts’ team for the foreseeable future, which doesn’t seem likely to change anytime soon, the concern at the quarterback position is having some insurance behind their superstar, especially considering his style of play.

The team needed to make the right move to have a solid depth chart, especially with newcomer Kenny Pickett not doing much to prove the Eagles made the right move in trading for him.

Despite being a disappointment up to this point in Philadelphia, Pickett is currently the backup to Hurts, with Tanner McKee being the third string following the release of Grier.
