Miles Bridges returned this year after sitting out the entirety of the 2022-23 NBA season following a domestic violence case, and he picked up right where he left off two years ago and blossomed into a 21-ppg scorer who displayed efficient shooting and strong rebounding ability.
With the Charlotte Hornets’ future in question and Bridges being an unrestricted free agent, his chances of returning to the team aren’t great, especially since one Eastern Conference foe is positioned to make a run at him.
Matt Moore of Hardwood Paroxysm shared that the Philadelphia 76ers are expected to show interest in Bridges, saying, “They’ve been linked to (Paul) George for months, with speculation only increasing after George appeared on ESPN’s pre-game show with Embiid. So, George and Butler are the two high-profile names. The Sixers are also expected to have interest in Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges.”

Moore makes it sound like Bridges could be a fallback option if the Paul George plan falls through, as it’s unlikely the Sixers could afford both of them, nor would the two make a lot of sense playing alongside one another.
Bridges is just 26 and is getting better every year, but the cloud of his domestic case will likely still hamper him as he heads into free agency.
It’ll be interesting to see what kind of contract he gets on the open market and if the Hornets plan on keeping him, given the emergence of rookie No. 2 pick Brandon Miller.
Charlotte also has the No. 6 pick in the draft, and a couple of players with similar profiles to Bridges are projected to be available in that range, namely Colorado’s Cody Williams and Matas Buzelis out of the G-League.
