The NBA offseason has already been a whirlwind for many teams across the league.
Several marquee players have gotten traded or signed to new teams, giving fans a lot to keep track of.
One of the biggest names to switch teams was DeMar DeRozan, who was traded to the Sacramento Kings.
DeRozan reportedly had several suitors before the Kings snatched him up, but it was unclear what teams were truly interested.
Bobby Marks recently reported that the Miami Heat were hoping to add DeRozan to their roster, “but no team wanted Duncan Robinson’s contract.”

Marks also highlighted the fact that the Heat had a chance to acquire Tyus Jones but were also unsuccessful in that venture.
There were high expectations for the Heat heading into the 2023-2024 NBA Season, but they were unable to live up to the hype.
Adding a player of DeRozan’s build could have helped them take the next step, but they’ll have to go to the drawing board over the next several months, hoping to find the right players to build their team back up.
The Eastern Conference isn’t getting any easier, and with the Boston Celtics keeping most of their championship roster intact, it will be that much more difficult for a team like the Heat to right the ship.
The Heat might feel significant pressure to succeed next year, and after losing out on DeRozen, that pressure could build over the next few months, resulting in potential frustration between the players, staff, and front office.
