For months, the San Francisco 49ers and star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk have been in the news for the wrong reasons.
Aiyuk has used every trick in the book to try to either force his way out of the Bay area or get the kind of contract he’s looking for.
From social media antics to putting pressure on the front office, the second-team All-Pro wide receiver has been a man on a mission for months now.
With that in mind, NFL legend Ed McCaffrey claimed that it might be just a matter of time before they find some common ground.
Talking to Kay Adams on her Up & Adams Show, Christian McCaffrey’s father reaffirmed that the Niners want him to stay there, as both GM John Lynch and HC Kyle Shanahan have repeatedly talked about their desire to keep him.

McCaffrey adds that it will most likely go down to how much guaranteed money they’re willing to give him, adding that Aiyuk will also have to meet them in the middle at some point.
The former wide receiver also said that he fully expects negotiations to come to fruition at some point before the start of the season.
The Niners don’t need this kind of distraction right now.
They’re looking to get back to the Super Bowl and put an end to their decades-long title drought after another disappointing end to the season last year, and they will need their elite route-runner out there on the field to do so.
