The Baltimore Ravens are facing the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship Game to kick off the 2024 NFL regular season.

In order for the Ravens to win this time around, they will need to better defend quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce and the rest of the Chiefs.

Ravens legend Ed Reed recently revealed his thoughts on how to do that.

“We’re gonna put our hands on them. We’re gonna make sure we’re physical with them from the start of the snap. … You gotta punch back,” Reed said, via “Up & Adams” host Kay Adams.

Perhaps if Reed were still playing, Baltimore would have a better shot at winning.

But if its defense uses his strategy, it may have a real chance at victory.

Defensively, the Ravens have a lot of potential disruptors and stars led by linebackers Roquan Smith and Kyle Van Noy, along with defensive backs Marlon Humphrey and Kyle Hamilton.

If the defense can get up in the face of Kansas City’s offense and not let it get started, this game could be very tight.

Rest assured that Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, a Super Bowl champion with an offensive mind, will have plans ready to attack for the Ravens.

The question is whether or not Baltimore can punch back like Reed is saying.

Did the Ravens learn from that home playoff loss to the Chiefs in January, or not?

If they did, they can do more than just host the AFC Championship Game this season.
