The arrival of quarterback Caleb Williams to the Chicago Bears was already celebrated, and now that he’s signed his $39 million rookie deal, reality is setting in that there’s a new leader in town.
And many believe there are happier days on the way to the longsuffering fans at Soldier Field.
The Bears already have one of the better defensive teams in the NFL, and the offense has been skillfully retooled to feature some of the best weapons seen on the shores of Lake Michigan in many years.
NFL analyst Emmanuel Acho told FS1’s “Speak” that his “realistic expectations” are for the new-look Bears to make the playoffs in 2024.

For the NFC, Acho predicted division titles for the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
But for the NFC North, the analyst left the top spot wide open.
Acho believes the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions join the Bears in the mix of teams that will vie for the top spot.
And while he stopped short of selecting Chicago to win the North, Acho noted that there are four spots left for the rising Bears – the division title and three wild card positions.
Williams is certainly expected to breathe new life into a franchise that has struggled for decades to find a quality quarterback to take them to the top.
With the weapons he has in his arsenal, if the rookie indeed lives up to his billing and takes the Bears back to the postseason, he will be the hero the Windy City sought for generations.
