The Washington Commanders are going through some drastic changes, with the storied NFL franchise finally getting an ownership change, which many believe will help right the ship in the nation’s capital.

Although it may take a few years to see some of these changes impact this team, the Commanders have a few things going for them right now, with Eric Bieniemy already making an impression as the new offensive coordinator and second-year quarterback Sam Howell showing some promise ahead of his debut as the team’s starter under center.

Even though Howell may have a long way to go before proving his worth as the team’s long-term starter, Bieniemy seems to like where things are headed with the talented young quarterback out of the University of North Carolina.

Bieniemy claims the 22-year-old quarterback is right where the team wants him, with veteran backup Jacoby Brissett helping him get up to speed, according to ProFootballTalk.

Without a lot of pressure to succeed in Washington D.C. heading into the 2023 campaign, Howell will likely be given ample time to get into a groove and show the Commanders brass what he can do on the football field in order the secure the job as the long-term starter.

Bieniemy famously ran the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense over the last few years and helped the franchise win two Super Bowl titles with superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes under center.

Needless to say, Bieniemy knows how to get the best out of his quarterbacks, which will significantly benefit Howell’s chances of having a bright future in the NFL.
