One of the most accomplished and polarizing sports media personalities on the scene today, Skip Bayless, is going back on the market.

The 72-year-old reportedly is leaving FS1’s “Undisputed” later this summer, with his next professional destination unknown.

It has already been reported that ESPN will not be looking to bring back Bayless, according to Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports.

Bayless worked at ESPN from 2004 to 2016, most notably having a hand in shows such as “Cold Pizza” and “First Take.”

Despite him not being the most beloved member of the media, it is hard to find a more accomplished sports writer and personality in the industry.

After graduating from Vanderbilt University in 1974, Bayless would go on to work for many major publications around the country.

He started at the Miami Herald in 1974 before going to the Los Angeles Times in 1976.

When he was just 26 years of age, he moved to Dallas to work for The Dallas Morning News, then the Dallas Times Herald.

In total, he spent 17 years in Dallas before ultimately leaving to work for the Chicago Tribune in 1998.

That would lead to his time working for ESPN and being widely known as one of the industry’s leading media voices.

Bayless spent many years working with famous co-host Stephen A. Smith on “First Take” before joining FOX Sports in 2016. There he was a co-host with Shannon Sharpe, who left to move to ESPN last summer.

Sometime soon, Bayless could be in search of a new opportunity to carry on his journey.

Time will tell to see where the legendary sports voice ends up next.
