The New York Giants of course share a home with the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium, and because of that, the teams haven’t always implemented extravagant midfield logos since it would require a lot of extra work for the grounds crew.
The two teams have often just had the NFL logo at midfield, but the Giants recently unveiled their own midfield logo for Week 1, and it’s a massive swing in the right direction.
Joe Pampliano shared a photo on X of the team’s new midfield logo which is identical to the team’s logo it donned from 1950-1955.

The reason for the throwback logo is that the Giants are about to kick off their 100th season when they take the field against the Minnesota Vikings on September 8th, and this is a fun way to honor the legacy of such a storied franchise.
The Giants will also reportedly be donning “Century Red” uniforms for the season opener to further pay tribute to the team’s rich history.
It’s assumed that the team will go back to its traditional midfield logo of a helmet with the “NY” logo after this game, but fans certainly wouldn’t be upset if this logo stuck around for a while.
The Giants are heading into a crucial season where they need to find out if Daniel Jones is officially the answer as the franchise quarterback and it has been a troubling offseason that saw the team lose Saquon Barkley in free agency, so something like this is a nice way to bring the vibes back and generate some excitement for the season.
