The New York Giants headed into the 2023 NFL season with high hopes of potentially being a title contender in the NFC after the team had seemingly gotten things back on track with Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley and Brian Daboll leading the way a season earlier.
Unfortunately, the 2023 campaign turned out to be an absolute disaster for the Giants, with the team falling apart early in the season and never recovering, which has resulted in a fairly awkward and disappointing offseason thus far.
One of the most painful realities for the Giants during this past season was that quarterback Daniel Jones is not the right man for the job under center, and they should have spent the money they did on signing him to a new deal for Barkley, who chose to leave the team in NFL free agency recently and sign with the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles.
As if things weren’t getting bad enough in New York, things got a bit weird for the Giants during a Jones press conference on Monday via Dov Kleiman.

With Jones doing nothing to prove his worth to the team last season, the Giants will almost certainly try to roll the dice on a rookie quarterback in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, with New York owning the No. 6 overall pick.
There are several talented quarterbacks in this draft class, meaning the Giants can draft a potential franchise player at No. 6 or try to trade up to get one of the top-tier prospects.
