Last week, Team USA got its training camp underway in Las Vegas, Nevada, in order to prepare for their first exhibition game against Canada, which would showcase two of the most stacked teams in terms of NBA talent that will compete for gold in the upcoming Olympics in Paris, France, later this month.
As expected, the Americans wiped the floor with the Canadians at T-Mobile Arena, as Dillon Brooks, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jamal Murray had no answer for the star-studded squad headlined by LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Anthony Davis.
Although this was nothing more than an exhibition game and somewhat of a measuring stick of where Team USA stands ahead of the Olympics, it was still a statement game for the Americans, with Davis being the star of the show as he dominated the Canadians inside the paint leading Team USA in getting the blowout win over Canada.
On Monday, Davis put on another stellar performance off the bench for head coach Steve Kerr, as he recorded a double-double and was clearly the best player on the floor against Australia in Abu Dabi.
With Davis playing at an incredibly high level right now, many people are making the case that he should be the starting center and that Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid should be the one coming off the bench, as he has really struggled thus far as a starter via Legion Hoops.

No question about it, AD is just a better fit for the team in the starting lineup

With so much talent on this American squad, it really doesn’t matter who starts for Team USA, as it seems as though they’ll dominate the competition when the games that matter get underway in Paris.
However, Kerr and company will want to get off to the best start to games possible to avoid any potential upsets, so starting Davis might be the right move moving forward.
