When Damian Lillard came to the Milwaukee Bucks in the summer, he wasn’t just changing the league, he was also changing his life.

Adjusting to life in Milwaukee has come with its fair share of challenges for the eight-time All-Star.

Speaking with Sports Illustrated, via NBACentral, Lillard admitted that he is “lonely” and doesn’t “have much of a life.”

He described his life like this:

“Bro, go to practice, go home, watch boxing, play video games. Man, I type in [boxing website] FightHype on YouTube 100 times and be praying for something new to be on there. Seriously, I don’t have much of a life. But that’s what comes with making a big boy decision. You got to be down for that and figure it out.”

Lillard’s admission generated a huge response online from fans and many people said the same thing: he wouldn’t feel this way in Miami.

The vast majority of responses on Twitter claimed that Lillard would be much happier if he was playing for the Heat, as he originally intended when he requested a trade from the Portland Trail Blazers last summer.

“he was supposed to be in Miami,” one fan said and many others made similar statements.

While it is true that Miami may have provided a more exciting nightlife for Lillard, he made it clear in this interview that he is lonely because he misses his family and friends who still reside in Portland.

“In Portland, my life was set up. My mom was down the street; my brother was the other way down the street. My sister was down the street. My kids in school. Just my whole life was set up perfectly right there,” Lillard said.

Lillard is being honest about the tough adjustment period he’s gone through but is still determined to make things work with the Bucks.

So far this season, he has been averaging 24.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.8 assists and the Bucks are the third-best team in the East.
