For years, people have talked about how Eric Bieniemy did an outstanding job with the Kansas City Chiefs’ offense.
Even though they wound up winning the Super Bowl this season, the Chiefs offense wasn’t as proficient as it was with him on board, and that spoke volumes of his importance with the team.
However, despite his well-documented history of success, and after watching lesser-known assistants land head coaching jobs, Bieniemy just can’t seem to get over the hump.
Now, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that he has agreed to join the UCLA Bruins as their offensive coordinator and assistant head coach for the next two seasons.

And while that’s great news, the fans still couldn’t believe the fact that he didn’t get an opportunity to be a head coach in the pros, and they took to Twitter to express their disbelief.
went from super bowl champion OC to being a OC for UCLA? damn

The Wahington Commanders’ offense wasn’t exactly good with him despite some nice playmakers, but he was only in charge of the team for one season.
The new ownership and the new coaching staff didn’t keep him, with Kliff Kingsbury taking the reins of the offense.
Some thought that could leave the door wide open for a return to the Chiefs, but that wasn’t the case.
Bieniemy has undergone countless interviews for head coaching vacancies, and it’s hard to explain why he keeps getting overlooked and passed on.
Hopefully, he’ll get a chance to be the main guy for a team somewhere down the line, as he’s earned it.
