The NBA Summer League has become a tradition.
Not all fans tune in, knowing that there aren’t going to be star players there, but it still gives us a chance to watch the most promising rookies get a taste of NBA action.
We also see second-year players who start showing signs of being ready to break out, and it’s not unusual to see dominance in the Summer League translate to breakout years.
Now, the league has decided to take things a little further by also giving out rings to the champions.
As shown by Bleacher Report on Twitter, the Miami Heat got some impressive 20th-anniversary Summer League rings after winning the championship.

Everybody was in awe of how beautiful and well made these rings were, and they took to social media to share their thoughts about it.

Granted, the Summer League is kind of meaningless, at least in the greater scheme of things.
Then again, it’s the closest some players will ever be to fulfilling their lifelong dreams of becoming an NBA player.
It’s nice to see that they have some sort of memorabilia to look back on and cherish for the rest of their lives.
