The San Antonio Spurs have had two of the greatest big men this game has ever seen.
Now, Victor Wembanyama is looking to join that list.
The reigning No. 1 pick is about to cap off one of the most impressive debut campaigns in NBA history.
An appreciation post for one of the greatest rookie seasons ever

As a matter of fact, plenty of people believe Wembanyama just had the greatest rookie season of all time, and they took to Twitter to comment on NBA Central’s post.

Wembanyama can definitely make an argument for that.
He averaged 21.4 points, 10.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.2 steals,1.8 three-pointers, and a league-leading 3.6 blocks per game on 46% from the floor.
Notably, his numbers per 36 minutes are even more impressive, as he did all of that damage in just under 30 minutes per game.
He’s the clear-cut frontrunner to win Rookie of the Year, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see him win Defensive Player of the Year as well.
Of course, the fact that the Spurs weren’t able to compete for most of the season is the only stain in this otherwise perfect season, and that’s also why some believe that guys like Tim Duncan or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar had a better debut campaign.
But Wembanyma showed that he was as good as advertised — if not better — and he managed to stay on the court, proving that durability shouldn’t be a concern with him.
It’ll be exciting to watch Wembanyama grow into the player he can be.
If he keeps this up, it won’t be long before he’s the best player in the league.
