The Atlanta Falcons have been on the verge of putting together an electrifying offense, but poor quarterback play and questionable head coaching stepped in the way multiple times.
They’re now looking to solve those issues at the QB position and have already hired a new head coach.
However, the team wants everybody to take the next step to get over the hump once and for all.
With that in mind, WR coach Ike Hilliard talked about his expectations for young star Drake London, the undisputed No. 1 pass-catcher on the team.
Hilliard recently stated that he expects that London ‘will dictate the coverage and make it easier for his quarterback by commanding the ball and making plays’ now that he’s entering his third season as a pro (via ProFootballTalk):
“I’ve watched them all; some big-game talent there,” Hilliard said. “Drake is obviously the one we’re really excited about. We need him to take the next steps now as a player, and we’re looking forward to coaching him, pushing him and getting him where he needs to go.”

He admitted to being quite excited about London and his talent, adding that they desperately need to see him taking that quality leap in 2024.
The Falcons have used multiple first-round picks to revamp their offense, with Bijan Robinson and Kyle Pitts also expected to have prominent roles under HC Raheem Morris.
London has been the most productive of the three thus far, but the hope is that improved quarterback play could also unleash the other skill players’ potential.
The Falcons have been tied to multiple quarterbacks over the past couple of weeks, with some thinking they’re ready to make a move for Chicago Bears’ Justin Fields, and others hoping they trade up in the NFL Draft.
Whatever the case, London might be in for a breakout year.
