There are many talented players in the NBA, and Atlanta Hawks star Dejounte Murray is among them.

Murray had a breakout 2021-22 NBA season, averaging 21.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 9.2 assists per game for the San Antonio Spurs.

He also led the league in steals by picking the pockets of his opponents 2.0 times on average per game.

Murray was then traded to the Atlanta Hawks, where he had a somewhat underwhelming first season.

Well, let’s put that aside for a while as the Hawks star turned 27 years old today.

The Hawks guard was wished well by the NBA’s official Twitter handle, alongside several fans.

Murray was given well wishes by most fans on Twitter.

However, one fan was shocked that he turned 27 years old as they believed Murray was 23 years old.

Anyway, speaking of his career, Murray earned his first NBA All-Star appearance in the 2021-22 season.

But since joining the Hawks and sharing the backcourt duties with Trae Young, Murray’s production dropped to 20.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game in the 2022-23 season.

Sure, these were decent numbers, but not good enough to make the second NBA All-Star appearance of his career.

Murray will certainly target reaching the same level of form in the upcoming season.

The Hawks were led to a 41-41 record by Murray and Young, which was good enough to finish as the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference last season.

Unfortunately, they were met with the heavyweight Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2023 playoffs and were eliminated in six games by Jayson Tatum and co.

The Hawks will aim to make a deep playoff run this season.
