Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers is currently in the middle of a very big career transition.
If he gets his wish, he will soon be playing for the Miami Heat.
With so much going on around Lillard, you’d think he wouldn’t have time for anything else.
But Saturday is Lillard’s 33rd birthday, as noted by the official NBA Twitter account.
One wonders if he will celebrate in Portland or Miami.

Online, fans were quick to celebrate Lillard and wish him a very special day.
Some of the tweets about Lillard were just joyful and straightforward with their well wishes.

But many, many others reminded the NBA and fans that Lillard won’t be a Blazer for much longer.
They said that he shouldn’t be referred to as a Portland player and should instead be called a Heat star.

For weeks now, Lillard has been trying to get traded away from the Blazers to the Heat.
So, will he finally get his wish on his birthday?
Some people said they knew exactly what he wanted as a gift: a move to Miami.

And tortured Portland fans were hoping that perhaps Lillard would give their city the ultimate gift and change his mind about departing.

The latest reports said that Lillard is still very intent on leaving the Blazers for the Heat.
But those same reports claim that Portland isn’t in any rush to make a deal and hasn’t been actively engaged with Miami over Lillard.
This means that while he might still end up in Miami when the new season starts, he probably won’t be receiving the birthday gift he truly wants on Saturday.
