It didn’t take long before Ja Morant proved to be one of the rising stars in the NBA.
The Memphis Grizzlies were more than glad about not getting the chance to land Zion Williamson, and he’s had a much better career thus far.
Morant took over as a leader and floor general on the court right out of the gate, and the best part about his game is that he’s just getting started.
The Murray State product is just turning 24 years old, and fans took to Twitter to wish him a happy birthday on the NBA’s post congratulating him.
let’s hope he doesn’t go on Instagram live today

Morant has become a fan favorite, and he’s already gotten the respect of his veterans peers and colleagues.
He’s got that competitive drive that makes him give his best every single night and on every single possession, and that underdog mentality is something you just can’t teach.
His combination of speed, hops, and athleticism makes us think of younger versions of Russell Westbrook or Derrick Rose, and his determination to put the best rim protectors and players on Earth on a poster is second to none.
The only issue with Morant thus far has been his off-court behavior.
He’s been tangled up in some violent acts and is currently facing a suspension for flashing a gun on Instagram Live, and that has led multiple former players to urge him to cut his act and just focus on basketball.
Morant will have plenty of time to reflect and think about what’s important, and the league will be in trouble if he stays locked in.
