Even though he had already established himself as the undisputed best player in the NBA, it took a while before LeBron James could get over that hump and win a championship.
He failed to do it on his first trip to the NBA Finals, being swept by the San Antonio Spurs when he was still young and with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Then, he took his talents to South Beach in one of the most controversial moves in NBA history, but he couldn’t get the job done in his first Finals there, either, losing to an underdog Dallas Mavericks team in six games.
The following season, however, finally saw James fulfill his destiny and become an NBA champion, and today marks the 11th anniversary of that day, according to StatMuse, and obviously, fans had a lot to say about this.

StatMuse also points out that James averaged 28.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game in that series, becoming the first player to put up those numbers on that stage.
Notably, he’s done it three more times since that championship run.
James bounced back and redeemed himself big time with that championship, beating a young Oklahoma City Thunder team featuring the likes of Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Serge Ibaka.
He had been abysmal in those losses vs. the Mavericks, and finally becoming a champion took plenty of weight off his shoulders.
Now, he’s got three more rings and has led three different franchises to the ultimate glory, further cementing his case as one of the best players to ever lace it up.
