Anthony Edwards is an old-school NBA player in today’s game.
He’s a fierce competitor, a trash-talker, and a physical kind of guy who doesn’t want to be buddies with everybody; he just wants to win and compete.
Besides his stellar game, he’s drawn plenty of praise from current and former players for the way he handles himself on and off the court.
Also, despite being just 22 years old, he’s clearly embraced a leadership role for the Minnesota Timberwolves, and even though he constantly praises Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert, everybody knows he’s the actual face of the franchise.
That’s why he didn’t hesitate to take the blame after their loss in Game 3.
He stated that he went out there with no energy, adding that he failed his teammates and that was something he couldn’t afford to do again.
With that in mind, Hall of Famer Reggie Miller praised him for taking accountability and not putting his ego in front of him, unlike several veteran stars.
However, it seemed like Miller was talking about one particular player, as he hinted that a guy who a lot of people have on their Mt. Rushmore should learn a thing or two from Edwards instead of just making up excuses (via Awful Announcing).
Who do we think Reggie Miller was referring to here:
“We’ve got certain guys with veteran status in our game that are on a lot of people’s Mount Rushmore that like to deflect and point fingers at others.” pic.twitter.com/7mtlHdk8aG

Needless to say, that looked like a clear jab at LeBron James, as most of the things Miller referred to were the very same things the Los Angeles Lakers star said this season.
Of course, it didn’t take long before the fans flooded social media to react to this.

Truth be told, Miller is right on point.
NBA players have the biggest egos and lack accountability and self-awareness, and they only want praise and credit.
Being blamed and pointed out also comes with superstar status; you can’t just have the fame, wealth, sponsors, and all the perks.
