Since joining the NBA just two seasons ago, Josh Giddey of the Oklahoma City Thunder has become a fan favorite and one of the brightest spots on the up-and-coming roster.
And he’s done it all before the age of 21 years old.
That all changed on Tuesday, as Giddey turned 21 and was celebrated by the league.
They posted a birthday shout-out to Giddey on Twitter, wishing him a wonderful and exciting big day.

The vast majority of users on Twitter were shocked to hear just how young Giddey is.
He’s younger than most NBA fans and he’s also younger than several rookies in the league too.
Happy birthday! Damn he’s younger than me

In other words, Giddey still has many years left in him.
Others were happy to praise the Australian forward, who was the sixth overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and has been with the Thunder ever since.
Happy birthday to my glorious Australian goat

Giddey averaged 16.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 6.2 assists during his second season with the Thunder.
Following the 2022-23 season, Giddey represented Australia in the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Although Australia didn’t make it past the group round, Giddey said he learned a lot from the experience.
He ultimately averaged 19.4 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists during the five games he participated in.
There is going to be a lot of attention paid to the Thunder in the season ahead, partly because of the strong core of players already on the roster and also because of the inclusion of Chet Holmgren.
He has already had two great seasons but this upcoming one could be the best yet for Giddey.
