Fans React As DeMarcus Cousins Signs With Puerto Rican Team

It’s a shame that DeMarcus Cousins isn’t on the roster now that the Sacramento Kings are back in the playoffs.

Boogie was the heart and soul of the team for years, and even though he failed to lead the team to the promised land, it’s not like he had anything to work with.

DeMarcus Cousins’ stellar play made him a perennial All-Star, and there was a time when he was the most physically imposing and dominant big man in the league.

Unfortunately, multiple major injuries and a history of so-called insubordination and untamable character forced his way out of the league.

That’s why the former star had no choice but to sign with the Guaynabo Mets of the Puerto Rican Professional Basketball League, hoping to stay in shape and work his way back to the league next season.

Four-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins is signing with the Guaynabo Mets of the Puerto Rican Professional Basketball League, sources tell ESPN. Cousins, 32, will play this spring there to continue to try and find a pathway back to the NBA.

As expected, fans had plenty to say about this report, with some feeling sorry about him and others demanding he gets back to the league ASAP.

There’s no denying that Cousins is way better than some backup big men in the league, even at this point in his career.

So, the fact that he’s no longer in the NBA seems more personal than basketball or fitness-related.

He gave the Denver Nuggets very solid minutes last season and could’ve been a nice addition for a playoff-bound team this year, but that’s just the way it goes.

Hopefully, he’ll get another chance to play in the league before walking away from the game.
