The man, the myth, the legend.
That’s what Aaron Judge is for New York Yankees fans.
The new captain blasted an American League-record 62 home runs last season and is trying to pick up where he left off this year.
And boy, he did that.
On Opening Day, in front of thousands of Yankees supporters, he went yard against San Francisco Giants ace Logan Webb to produce the first run, and the first home run, of the season.

It was a majestic blast to straightaway center field for Judge.
The reigning 2022 AL MVP signed a nine-year, $360 million contract to stay in the Bronx for the foreseeable future.
He drew interest from a number of teams, most notably the Giants.
People on Twitter were very excited about Judge’s blast.

Judge’s race towards 62 home runs last year revitalized baseball in the stretch run.
Everybody was following his chase of Roger Maris‘ old record until he finally did it.
Will he have another similar chase in him this year?
He hit 101 home runs if we combine his 2021 and 2022 stats, and is already on the board for the 2023 season.
His underlying stats indicate that his 62-homer season last year was not a fluke, and he is very much capable of hitting at least 50 in 2023.
Will he be able to do that?
It will be one of the most fascinating storylines to follow this campaign.
The Yankees will go as far as Judge takes them, and that’s no small thing.
He is a legitimate star and one of the most exciting players in the league.
