More often than not, the NBA Summer League is meaningless.

A player can struggle or dominate and it necessarily won’t translate to the pros, and we’ve seen that happen countless times.

However, we can always either get excited or be worried about some of the intangibles and things we see on the court.

For starters, the top selections usually dominate at this stage, as they’re going against first or second-year players or guys trying to make a roster.

That’s why some fans sounded the alarms after watching Alex Sarr’s now-infamous performance.

The No. 2 pick of the NBA Draft went scoreless despite playing almost 30 minutes and taking 15 shots in the game (via NBA Central).

Sarr went 0-for-15 from the floor, 0-for-7 from beyond the arc, and 0-for-2 from the free-throw line.

He did grab nine rebounds to go along with two assists, two steals, and three blocks.

Still, the fans had plenty to say on social media after the game, and it wasn’t pretty.

That says 0/15???

Tony Snell must be proud seeing this statline

That’s the second overall pick

That’s horrible for the #2 overall pick.

Sarr was considered to be by most the best player in this class, but his refusal to work out for the Atlanta Hawks made him slip to No. 2.

His offense was never his calling card, but he was deemed as a potential generational defender.

Again, these games are meaningless.

But we’re talking about a big man taking 15 shots and not making a single one, and that’s despite not even going against true NBA-caliber competition.

Hopefully, he’ll be able to shake this off soon enough and get back on track, as that stat line has now become a meme.
