The Minnesota Timberwolves can rest assured that they made the right decision when they got Anthony Edwards in the NBA Draft.
The young shooting guard continues his meteoric rise to stardom, becoming the undisputed leader and best player for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup.
Edwards was once again at his best, and his timely scoring came in quite handily for a national team that struggled against Montenegro.
He scored 17 points on 7-for-16 from the floor, adding three rebounds, one assist, two steals, and one three-pointer in 27 mins to uplift Team USA to an 85-73 win.
Needless to say, that kind of performance turned a lot of heads on social media, with dozens of fans talking about his potential.

Edwards is coming off the first All-Star season of his career.
He put the Timberwolves on his shoulders and willed them into the playoffs, and his time with Team USA and playing under the best coaches in the Association will only do wonders for his development.
Edwards has the potential to be one of the most dominant scorers in the league, and he should make the MVP shortlist next season, regardless of how his team fares.
He seems to have that competitive drive, and he’s proven that he’s not the kind of player who shies away from a big shot or a timely bucket.
And the best part about his game is that he’s still years away from reaching his prime, so he’s only going to get better.
