The Houston Texans have looked much better than some people expected during the 2023 NFL season and a large part of that is their rookie quarterback CJ Stroud.
Stroud hasn’t looked like the average rookie quarterback since his Week 1 debut as he’s shown real poise and command of the Texans’ offense.
The rookie and Houston came into Week 9 sporting a 3-4 record and went against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers team that was searching for some momentum to their season.
Although both squads have solid defensive units, it was a shootout between the Texans and Buccaneers as they traded scores throughout the afternoon.
However, it was Stroud who would come up clutch as he led Houston down the field for a game-winning drive that had the home arena rocking.
Fans understandably had nothing but exciting things to say on Twitter via NFL.

There’s no denying at this point that the Texans have their franchise signal caller as Stroud has proven every week that he belongs in the NFL.
Facing a high-pressure situation, Stroud didn’t seem fazed as he simply worked the Buccaneers’ defense to hit his receivers and get them into a position to score.
There was a legitimate discussion during the 2023 NFL Draft about who should’ve gone first overall, and it looks like Stroud should’ve been the pick over Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young.
Panthers fans have to be feeling like they may have missed out on the best signal caller from that draft class, though the Texans fans are surely happy they have Stroud on their side.
