Since the Los Angeles Chargers drafted Justin Herbert, the team has underwhelmed every season.
The Chargers front office has done everything it can to give Herbert the weapons and resources he needs to be successful, but they continually seem to find ways to let him down.
Los Angeles has a reputation for finding ways to lose games in heartbreaking fashion, and that trend has continued in the 2023 NFL season as they’ve been on the unfortunate end of some brutal losses.
Currently last in the AFC West, the Chargers are likely to miss the postseason which should mean that widespread changes are coming across the organization.
With Herbert under contract for at least the next five seasons, L.A. will need to figure out a way to maximize the roster around him.
The franchise’s futility was highlighted by some mind-blowing stats and fans gave their reactions via Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The balance across the record, points scored and points given up is astounding though it’s also seemingly fitting given how much the Chargers have struggled to get over the hump.
With all the talent on the roster, Los Angeles should be in the conversation for Super Bowl contenders but instead they continue to give fans false hope that they’re finally able to turn the corner.
Head coach Brandon Staley seems likely to be let go once the regular season ends, and the team could also be forced to make some tough cuts to the roster given that they’re riding up against the league’s salary cap.
