This past weekend was packed full of NBA games as the playoffs began with a bang.
It was an incredibly exciting few days for fans of the game.
But for many, it was also incredibly tiring too.
That’s because the NBA’s schedule was so stacked that the last game on Sunday night didn’t even start until 10:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
While that was all well and good for many fans in Denver, who were a couple of hours behind, it was rough for east coast fans who were up well past midnight watching the Nuggets defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Charles Barkley wasn’t happy about it, saying the NBA needs to “have some respect for the fans” and not schedule games so late into the night.
He also said that the fans in Denver shouldn’t have to wait until nearly 9:00 p.m. to watch their game.
Charles Barkley is not a fan of the 8:30 PM local start time for T’Wolves-Nuggets.
“We got to have some respect for the fans at some point. It ain’t fair for the people in Denver to be playing at 8:30 at night and they got to go to school tomorrow.” pic.twitter.com/Bbs2EjmWXs

Barkley is the type of commentator who gets ridiculed often because of his opinions but almost everyone online agreed with his take.
“He’s not wrong,” one fan said plainly with a sleeping face emoji.

“For once I agree with Chuck,” another stated.

There were numerous people noting that Timberwolves fans couldn’t be as engaged as they wanted.
They needed sleep after a long day before the work week begins.
I couldn’t agree more. I know a lot of people that would have watched the game here in minnesota but it won’t be over until Damn near midnight. So they unfortunately have to miss the game since they work early.

Other people said that the league probably wouldn’t change this approach to scheduling games.
The arenas are still selling out and fans are consistently watching.
Place will be sold out, they don’t care that much.

It is true that the league probably won’t alter this any time soon.
While late-night games are a drag for some fans, the Association has weighed its options.
They have found that enough people watch, even when the scheduling goes beyond midnight.
Barkley and others will just need to brew an extra pot of coffee because the NBA is going to run late this time of year.
