The Kansas City Chiefs are Super Bowl champions once again, with Patrick Mahomes leading the storied NFL franchise to a second title with him under center.
Although the Chiefs were able to come out on top against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl, the team’s primary concern coming into that game was Mahomes’ health as he was dealing with an ankle injury.
Despite the injury, which was clearly taking its toll in the NFL playoffs, Mahomes was able to power through and beat a very good Eagles squad led by Jalen Hurts.
Even though it has been more than two months since he played in the Super Bowl, Mahomes still isn’t 100% healthy, according to James Palmer of NFL Network.
Patrick Mahomes says that he’s still not 100% on his ankle. He really isn’t limited too much as he pushes it in his workouts right now. They push it, just the right amount in his mind, during the week , but It’s still sore on the weekends.

I saw an interview with Andy Reid, who said that Patrick Mahome’s ankle is fine. So is it sore or healed up?

Not being healthy after having so much time to get the ankle right is concerning, as the damage could be much worse than Mahomes and the team realized.
Mahomes still has a lot of time to get back to 100%, with a few months left until training camp gets underway and the start of the 2023 NFL season.
The Chiefs will almost certainly continue to monitor Mahomes’ situation moving forward and whether it becomes a persistent problem for the perennial Pro Bowler.
In the meantime, the defending Super Bowl champions will focus on the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft and the moves the team can make to keep Kansas City as a legitimate title contender next season and for the foreseeable future.
