The MLB season is right around the corner and many people are making predictions for their World Series champions.
MLB is full of parity, as we have not had a repeat champion since the Yankees won three in a row from 1998-2000.
Also, the increased playoff field has led to Wild Card teams making a run to the World Series.
MLB insider Buster Olney released his prediction for the World Series.
He has the Philadelphia Phillies defeating the New York Yankees.
Some people are not surprised to see Olney choose the Phillies over the Los Angeles Dodgers or the Atlanta Braves.
I have said for 3 yrs now that ATL is built for the regular season and the @Phillies are built for the playoffs. The Phils have blown the Braves out in the playoffs the last 2 yrs and ATL hasn’t done much to improve.

Each of the last two postseasons, the Phillies have knocked the Braves out in the NLDS.
The Phillies seem to be a perfectly built team for the playoffs.
Also, it helps that they have one of the best home-field advantages in baseball.
While the Phillies seem like a good pick, not everyone agrees.
I don’t buy the Yankees starting pitching. The Phillies, blew their best chance last year and are getting old.

The Phillies had two great chances to win it all these past two seasons.
But, their star players are not getting any younger.
Bryce Harper, Trea Tuner, Zack Wheeler, and Aaron Nola are all in their 30s as we enter 2024.
While that is not old in baseball years, it is something to keep an eye on.
Also, a change of approach for the Phillies at the plate could lead to more postseason success.
One fan thinks they must stop relying on solo home runs.
The Phillies need to prove they can win without relying so heavily on solo home runs. Their offensive approach up and down that lineup is home run or bust, chase anything. Too many of them get themselves out on bad pitches. That only gets you so far.

We have seen the Phillies slump in recent postseasons, which is a big reason why they were unable to finish the job.
But, if they can become less reliant on home runs, that could help push them over the top.
