The NFL is one of the most watched leagues in the world.
They have elite athletes, and football Sunday is treated like a holiday in America.
Many people question whether they deserve to be paid the millions of dollars they are making.
Recently retired NFL player J.J. Watt had an interesting take on how much players should make.
He thinks they should make whatever owners are willing to pay.
That’s a supply and demand question. Things are worth what people are willing to pay.
I believe your question may be trying to understand if we as a society place too much value on professional sports, which is a much larger and deeper conversation. https://t.co/LCFZfnL8Y2

Professional sports are a very important part of society.
Many people spend their hard-earned money going out to watch NFL games.
Yet, some people still think too much value is placed on pro sports.
The answer is yes – as to putting a value on professional sports/athletes.

But others think sports are so important that no price can be put on them.
My main causes for depression and anxiety is boredom, sport helps me out no end. Can’t put a price on it.

No matter where you stand, everyone deserves to be paid their full value.
In the NFL, the players are what run the league.
They keep it interesting and are the reason fans watch.
So with all the money the NFL makes, most of that should go back to the players.
Well when the TV rights package fetches $100 billion, the salaries of those you’re watching should correlate to the revenue the product is producing.

It’s obviously yes, because of what the game generates. Honestly the players who assume all of the physical risk still deserve more.

Yeah. Would love for teachers, doctors, social workers to make way more money but the money’s got to come from somewhere. Sports and the whole “fill a coliseum” concept plus all the jersey sales and stuff create a market that just doesn’t exist in most professions.

People would rather the billionaire owners keep the money. It’s like asking for any employee to get paid less. Who gets the money? Ownership. Employees need their fair cut. Especially when your job can disable you pretty easily.

The players are why the league is so successful, so the NFL should start to give it’s players fully guaranteed contracts.
But, that is a conversation for a different time.
