Fans React To Jeff Van Gundy’s Honest Admission About Being Fired

Jeff Van Gundy was one of the most beloved personalities on ESPN.

Fans seemed to appreciate his takes on the NBA, making it surprising that the network parted ways with him last year.

A transition of this magnitude was difficult for Van Gundy, especially knowing what was going on in his personal life, which he recently shared publically.

As shared by NBA Central, Van Gundy said, “I got fired from ESPN on June 30, and then my youngest son went to school in August so we became empty nesters. Then, my sister-in-law passed away in the middle of August as well.”

This wasn’t all for Van Gundy, as he finished his statement with, “Then, my best friend in Houston contracted cancer, and he died this spring.”

Needless to say, the past year has been a challenge for Van Gundy and his family.

He was not only let go by ESPN, but he has experienced a lot of hardship and heartbreak in the months after his career changed.

After hearing Van Gundy’s story, people across social media expressed their condolences and tried to encourage him.
