The Las Vegas Raiders organization has messed up more than once when it comes to the NFL Draft.
Not only have they wasted picks on players that didn’t turn out as good as expected, but they’ve also taken some questionable characters.
That’s why there was plenty of speculation regarding whether they’d take Georgia star Jalen Carter with the seventh overall pick, given his involvement in a fatal crash earlier in the year.
Recently, a report stated that the Raiders had already crossed him off their draft board, citing that they wouldn’t take any chances.
Notably, HC Josh McDaniels was quick to dismiss that narrative, reaching out to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal to talk about the superstar prospect.
Just spoke to Josh McDaniels & he reiterated what he told reporters about Jalen Carter on Monday. Contrary to a recent report, the @Raiders are doing their due diligence on Carter, who remains on their draft board. Carter will meet with Raiders as one of their 30 visits in April

According to the former Patriots OC, the Raiders are still considering Carter, and he’s even scheduled to meet with the team at some point in April.
Needless to say, the fans had plenty to say about that.
Smart.
Even if it’s true he’s off their board. You don’t want to give other teams any clue what you are doing.
Smokescreen season for a reason!

The report shoupd be 100% accurate. The fact we are still considering drafting Carter is crazy

Can we draft a new coach?

Like my I said, it won’t happen. It’s a bad look.

Nothing McDaniels says can be trusted.

Carter is considered one of the five best prospects in this upcoming NFL Draft class, so there’s a big chance that he’s not even available when the Raiders are on the clock.
He pleaded no contest to misdemeanor driving offenses related to the fatal car crash that took the life of Chandler Leroy and Devin Willock, a staff member and player at Georgia University.
The Raiders have a long history of players getting on the wrong side of the law, with the latest example being Henry Ruggs III, who’s still awaiting trial on DUI charges from a crash that killed a woman last year.
