Klay Thompson could be moving to a new team soon and he may have one lined up already.
According to a report from Marc Stein, per NBACentral, Thompson is interested in joining the Dallas Mavericks.
Additionally, there is reportedly “strong mutual interest” between Thompson and the Mavericks, meaning a deal between both sides is even more likely.
The news of Thompson possibly joining Luka Doncic had the internet talking on Saturday morning.

Many people said Thompson could be a great pickup for the Mavericks, who are still looking for that missing piece that could get them back to the Finals next season.
Of course, he will have to improve his shooting, especially after a very troubled 2023-24.
But if he can do that, he could give the Mavericks a huge offensive boost.

The idea of Thompson posting strong catch-and-shoot three-pointers like he used to is very appealing to Mavericks fans and many are excited by this news.

However, others noted that the Mavericks might have to pay a pretty penny to get Thompson.
Are they willing to produce the sort of contract he wants?
And if they are, will that leave them with any more cash to acquire other stars?

Then there were plenty of people stating that Thompson is “dust” and past his prime.
What happens if the Mavericks sign Thompson and he keeps struggling from the field like he did last season?
They could spend a lot of money and get nothing in return for it.

In his prime, Thompson was one of the best shooters in the league and perhaps one of the greatest scorers of all time.
That alone is enough to attract the Mavericks, but will the price point be right?
