The Baltimore Ravens have their quarterback locked in for the future.

Lamar Jackson has officially signed a contract extension, and he looks quite excited about what’s to come.

Jackson admitted that even though he requested a trade, he always wanted to stay with the Ravens.

More than that, he’s looking forward to making the most of the new elite set of weapons his team gave him, going as far as to say he wants to throw for 6,000 yards.

Needless to say, that prompted some mixed reactions on social media, with some fans praising him and others making fun of such an ambitious goal.

Folks forget, it wasn’t passing, but before the Cleveland game in 2021 where he got hurt. Lamar Jackson was on pace to set the record for most total yds in a season at around 6150yds ish. He at the time had more total yds than half the league. It was insane the pace he was on

gotta throw 10 yards down the field first

Love Lamar but I don’t see how they are any better than last year. They should be in the market to trade for D Hop, then we will be talking

Health will be the key.

Bruh I love Lamar and OBJ. But they both have injury problems and OBJ is like 31. He can’t think that getting OBJ is going to change so much? I know they got Zay Flowers but he is just a rookie.

Notably, Jackson wasn’t the most proficient passer in the league when he first came around, but he’s made great strides ever since.

His haters and those who urged him to switch positions to running back have gone radio silent over the past couple of years, and he was on pace to have a career year before falling with an injury last season.

Peyton Manning currently holds the record for the most passing yards in a single season (5,477), a milestone he achieved with the 2013 Denver Broncos.

Of course, Manning is on a tier of his own when it comes to prolific passers, so it will be a bit of an uphill battle for Jackson to try and top that figure, even with Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers joining Mark Andrews in their offense.
