Unfortunately, Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies has been getting a lot of press lately for things that have nothing to do with basketball.

Just weeks ago, Morant missed out on multiple games after live-streaming himself holding a gun at a club.

And that was just the latest in a string of bad headlines for the superstar after arguments with mall security guards and fights with teenage basketball players dominated the web.

The situation with that teenager is in the press again.

Morant has filed a countersuit against the teenager who is suing him.

In the countersuit, Morant’s lawyers say that the fight could have resulted in serious injury.

That would have hurt his chances of getting a supermax contract extension with the Grizzlies.

The response to this countersuit has been pretty negative against Morant and his legal team.

The fact that Morant got into an argument with a teenager has always been a point of contention for many.

They find the entire incident immature, silly, and really embarrassing.

Now that Morant is countersuing the teen, even more people say Morant is now cast in a bad light.

“Bro suing a 17 year old you bullied is crazy,” one fan said.

“No way he suing a teenager,” another astonished fan said on Twitter.

Other people made light of the situation, imagining what would happen if the teenager was found liable and had to pay Morant any sum of money.

There are many others online who feel that Morant’s numerous run-ins with the law make it harder and harder to root for him and his team.

This is a sentiment that has popped up throughout the NBA fanbase over the last season.

As much as people respect Morant and his skills, they are growing tired of all the poor choices he has been making off the court.
