One doesn’t have to be a sports connoisseur to know that LeBron James and Kevin Durant are two of the greatest players in NBA history.
They’ve both dominated the league at will during a period, and they’re a couple of first-ballot Hall of Famers.
So, it’s a huge deal whenever they square off, especially considering their history in the NBA Finals.
That’s why the fans were in awe of the fact that they hadn’t played against each other since 2018.

It had been five years until last night’s preseason matchup, and the fans simply could not believe it.
Notably, this is a testament to LeBron James’ durability.
He and Durant didn’t play in the same conference until Durant was traded to the Phoenix Suns, and he was the one who missed most of those contests with different injuries.
Of course, James has also missed more games than usual over the course of the past couple of years.
It’s natural to see him struggling to stay on the floor, considering the fact that he’s soon to be 39 years old and entering his 21st season playing at the highest level.
Notably, LeBron has also had Durant’s numbers throughout the course of their careers, going 15-6 against him in 21 regular-season matchups.
Nonetheless, Durant has had the last laugh when it has mattered the most, going 9-5 against him in the playoffs, and beating him twice with the Golden State Warriors, although James did beat him first with the Miami Heat in the 2012 edition of the NBA Finals.
