LeBron James is objectively one of the greatest players in NBA history; there’s simply no way around it.
Whether you want to talk about stats, accolades, championships, longevity, or whatnot, he’s had at least two Hall-of-Famer careers in one.
That doesn’t mean he should be exempt from criticism or above the rest of the league when it comes to fulfilling his obligations.
That’s why fans were shocked to see that he refused to address the media following the Los Angeles Lakers’ 14-point home loss to the Miami Heat (via Dave McMenamin and Legion Hoops).

He’s frustrated. Didn’t want to say anything he would regret.
Nothing wrong with that.

LeBron is a fierce competitor, and things aren’t going well in Los Angeles.
But he’s also a 39-year-old veteran in the midst of his 21st season in the league, so he should know better than this; he’s the team’s leader and the face of the franchise.
As much as he loves being praised — and rightfully so, because he’s earned that — he should also be there to be held accountable for his team’s shortcomings, especially after a game in which he had 12 points on 33% from the floor.
James is always one step ahead of the rest with every little thing he does or says, and he knows the repercussions of his actions beforehand.
This could be yet another one of his tactics to put some pressure on the front office to make some moves, or perhaps he was honestly overwhelmed after another disappointing outing.
Whatever the case, this is not a good look for one of the greatest and most successful athletes to ever walk the Earth.
