Over the past few years, the GOAT debate in the NBA has been a hot topic of discussion, with many believing LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers has a legitimate case to dethrone Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan as the greatest player ever to play the game.
Although many believe these two basketball icons are the only two players in contention for this distinction of the GOAT, former Lakers legend Kobe Bryant still gets some consideration from time to time from current, former and professional athletes who play different sports.
On a recent appearance of The OGs Show with Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem, Las Vegas Raiders superstar Maxx Crosby talked about how Bryant impacted his life and career and how he puts the five-time NBA champion over James via ClutchPoints.
“My GOAT list, I’m taking Kobe over LeBron… You got game seven on the line, I’m taking MJ and I’m taking Kobe.”

Clearly, basketball fans, namely James fans, felt the need to correct Crosby when picking Bryant over the current Lakers superstar.
There’s no question that a lot of fans these days take James over Bryant, with the consensus being that the future Hall of Famer’s longevity is something that gives him an edge, especially considering he is now the NBA’s all-time leading scorer passing fellow Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, a record that stood for 39 years.
With James still playing at a high level while set to turn 40 in December, he’ll continue to add to his legacy while potentially winning over more fans regarding the GOAT conversation, making the debate that much more interesting moving forward.
