Longtime ESPN television show and analyst Mike Greenberg is among the most respected in his profession and a familiar face of early-bird sports fans.
Recently, Greenberg had a scary moment during one of his shows, ESPN’s Get Up, and had to leave before the show was over due to a health concern, which ultimately led to him taking a week off and undergoing heart surgery.
Obviously, this caused a lot of concern among his fans and peers, like fellow sports personality Pat McAfee, who recently asked Greenberg about his health on The Pat McAfee Show.
The 55-year-old Greenberg was candid about what happened and thoroughly explained his condition with a promising update about his health.
We were worried about you Greeny..
“This was something that sounded a lot worse than it was..
I had a condition called atrial fibrillation and I had to have a procedure called a cardiac ablation.. it’s fairly major but it’s very routine and very common” ~ @Espngreeny #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/0vgeIAptyd

As Greenberg made abundantly clear, he is doing well, and although the procedure sounds severe and scary, it was pretty routine, and he was able to get through it.
As anyone who works in sports knows, covering a team or league(s) in general can be incredibly demanding and stressful, especially for those that have to be up at the crack of dawn to do a show like Greenberg does on a regular basis.
He’s been battling this condition since 2015 after dealing with the added stress of seeing his dad pass away, as he said on The Pat McAfee Show.
Fortunately, Greenberg appears to be in good health and back to work ahead of the NBA playoffs and the 2023 NFL Draft, which takes place later this month on April 27.
