Pat McAfee has given ESPN’s College Gameday a shot of life that it sorely needed, and all the panelists have been more comfortable being themselves since he joined the show.

The same could be said for former Alabama head coach Nick Saban, who hit the Gameday set on Saturday and let it rip, much to the audience’s surprise.

The normally mild-mannered Saban had a great time on the show and displayed a much more jovial personality than he did when he was coaching, with the highlight being when he was discussing the current college football landscape when it comes to roster building and he said, “You guys keep talking about a $20 million roster, you don’t pay the right guys, you’re s*** out of luck.”

Kirk Herbstreit replied, “Congratulations, you just broke the internet,” foreshadowing how much fun fans would have with Saban dropping an expletive.

The co-hosts and the crowd loved it as well, and it’s a lot of fun to see Saban having a good time and enjoying his retirement.

The show also featured McAfee ripping his shirt off, an appearance from Johnny Manziel, and Lee Corso dressing like a leprechaun and doing the Irish Jig as he selected Notre Dame to defeat Texas A&M.

Bill Belichick has also shown more of his personality since becoming a regular on McAfee’s show, and fans are blessed to have better access to these two football minds now that they’re not tasked with building rosters all year round.
