The San Antonio Spurs may have missed the playoffs, but they may have won the 2023-24 NBA season as they saw astronomical growth from their franchise cornerstone in Victor Wembanyama.
Wembanyama, the consensus No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, had incredibly high expectations placed on him given all the hype and he more than delivered with a historic rookie year.
The France native looked like a freak of nature on the court, producing at least one jaw-dropping highlight a night as teams struggled to deal with his length, mobility, and basketball instincts.
Defensively, Wembanyama looked like a player beyond his years as he blocked shots that perhaps no other center could get to.
Meanwhile, the young phenom showed off his improving offensive game as he started to get more comfortable shooting off the dribble and from outside the arc.
Wembanyama’s popularity continued to soar after he signed with Nike and they released a trailer of his new logo that had fans buzzing.

Nike previously teased Wembanyama’s logo to much fanfare, and this confirmation all but added fuel to the fire for his future signature shoe.
The trailer itself is a beautiful piece of marketing as the Nike team secured a fan that had the perfect reaction to a Wembanyama play appear in the video.
Nike’s always done well when it comes to promoting their athletes and Wembanyama is the perfect star to market given his international appeal and basketball talent.
Wembanyama’s ascent as the face of the league is only beginning and fans can’t wait to see how it unfolds.
