Well, it seems like Dan Snyder’s reign over the Washington Commanders is finally over.
The team reportedly turned down Tilman Fertitta’s $5.6 billion bid, and rightfully so, as there was someone willing to one-up that price.
According to a report by Sportico, via Dov Kleiman, the conglomerate of Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils owner Josh Harris, Magic Johnson, and Mitchell Rales has successfully reached an agreement to purchase the organization.

The bid ascended to $6 billion, $500 million short of Snyder’s reported asking price of $6.5 billion.
Notably, this is still over $1.5 billion more than what the Denver Broncos just sold for several months ago.
Commanders fans had urged Snyder to sell the team for years now.
The controversial business mogul spent over two decades in charge of the organization, which is currently being subject to three separate investigations.
So, unsurprisingly, the news of Snyder finally parting ways with the team was met mostly with joy among the fans on social media.

It’s been quite a while since the Commanders were truly competitive.
The fans wanted Jeff Bezos to come to the organization’s rescue, but the Amazon founder never actually submitted a formal bid for the team.
Now, it remains to be seen whether this new ownership will take a more aggressive approach to roster-building and committing to winning right away.
So, don’t rule them out as potential suitors for Lamar Jackson, who still wants to leave the Baltimore Ravens and would be a massive upgrade at the quarterback position for Ron Rivera’s team.
