The Boston Celtics secured another win on Friday night, beating the Toronto Raptors 121-102.
Boston is the second team in the East with just one week before the playoffs begin, meaning they are definitely entering the first round as one of the best teams in the league.
But their latest victory was earned without one of their biggest stars.
As noted by NBA writer Jared Weiss, Jaylen Brown cut his hand while picking up a broken glass vase earlier this week and had to receive five stitches.
He won’t be playing for the rest of the regular season as he recovers but the team believes he will be ready for the playoffs.

Speaking of belief, there were plenty of NBA fans online who really didn’t believe Brown’s story.
Right away, responses online were filled with people who thought the story was a cover for something else.
Speculation is now reigning about what could have possibly injured Brown’s hand.

“LOL sure picking up broken glass gives you five stitches really very believable story,” one fan said.

Other people think that Brown’s injury is actually a sign that he doesn’t want to play for the Celtics anymore.
“Sound like ‘I don’t want to play for Boston no more’ to me,” a fan said.
For months now, people have been wondering about Brown’s future, thinking he could depart for another team in the near future.
Is this incident actually Brown’s way of sitting on the bench because he wants to move to another team?

Some Celtics fans were instead optimistic about what’s next for Brown, swearing that he will recover from this injury, be back with the team soon, and will help them thrive in the playoffs.
“Y’all chill. He’ll be fine,” one user said.

The Celtics are set to battle the Miami Heat in the opening round of the playoffs so they need all the help they can get, including Brown.
He has averaged 26.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists a game.
Those numbers could be very helpful once his hand has healed.
