The Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson seem to be at a standoff right now.
Neither side is willing to cave on their contract demands, and it remains uncertain if a deal will get done.
One aspect of a deal that Jackson is looking for is guaranteed money.
He wants a deal close to fully guaranteed and on the same level as Deshaun Watson’s contract from the Browns.
Many reports have been flying around about what Jackson has or has not been offered.
But Ian Rapoport went on the Pat McAfee Show to help clear up some of the questions.
Rapoport said, “The deal that the Ravens offered Lamar Jackson was pretty strong… $200M was the total guaranteed and the $133M was guaranteed on a shorter deal.”

Many people were unaware that the Ravens would go that high on guarantees.
Also, many people are shocked that Jackson would turn down the $200 million guaranteed.
If lamar doesn’t take it, he just doesn’t want to be a raven. It’s pretty much that simple at this point

Lamar confirm this cause ain’t no way you turned down $200M in guarantees.

But, now that they have, you would think a deal should be coming into place soon.
Also, after the contract that Jalen Hurts received, it makes sense that Jackson would be paid in the same ballpark as that deal.
Lamar has been offered a contract, but is it big enough after the Jalen Hurts deal dropped? https://t.co/zQrBPM465n

It would be best for the Ravens if they can get a long-term deal done with Jackson before the season.
But, Jackson not having an agent will make a deal more tricky.
Sure, but that’s not what @Lj_era8 thinks he’s worth. And because he refused to get an agent this situation is going to continue to get uglier. https://t.co/t516wnW2j7

He is not going to want to play on the franchise tag, and if he is forced to that could only raise more problems.
The Ravens know how important Jackson is to their chances of winning.
He should be paid like one of the best in the game.
