The New York Jets simply cannot catch a break.

Just when it seemed like they were ready to make a push for the Super Bowl, they lost Aaron Rodgers just one drive into the season.

Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero confirmed that Rodgers would miss the entire season with an Achilles injury, which obviously led to countless reactions on social media (via NFL).

Terrible way to end a career.

Praying for a speedy recovery.

Poor Jets fans.

Tough loss despite the W.

The Jets traded all that and gave Aaron Rodgers all that money just for 4 snaps they’re cursed

Rodgers had been vocal about how thrilled he was for having the opportunity to play in the Big Apple.

He had looked like a completely different person since arriving in New York, and he had talked about how much he was looking forward to staying with the organization for the long run.

But that can all change now.

Rodgers is 39 years old and not many athletes are able to come back to their usual level after an Achilles injury, let alone at that age.

Rodgers is one of the greatest players in the history of the game.

Playing in New York had given him the opportunity to take his legacy to a whole new level, as he could’ve won a Super Bowl with two different franchises, just like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady before him.

Also, leading an ever-struggling team like the Jets to the mountaintop would’ve cemented his legacy as a New York City legend until the end of time.

Now, we don’t even know if we’ll see him padded up and taking the field again.
