The Minnesota Timberwolves are a team that could be on the cusp of having something special, as they have a lot of talent but have been unable to put it together over the last few years.
With the team seeing a bright future ahead of them with rising star Anthony Edwards leading the way, the organization in Minnesota has decided to fully commit to the new face of the franchise for the foreseeable future.
Edwards became a wealthy man on Monday before the July 4th holiday, with the Timberwolves inking him to a five-year deal worth $260 million, making him the star attraction in Minnesota moving forward.

It is no surprise that Timberwolves fans would be happy about the team committing to Edwards for the next five years, as he is arguably one of the most exciting and talented young players in the league today.
Edwards has improved with each season in Minnesota and could be approaching superstardom if he can continue to improve and take it to another level next season and beyond.
The real question now is whether the team feels equally committed to Karl-Anthony Towns, who has been mentioned in trade rumors over the past two years or so.
Although Towns is one of the best young centers in the league with a versatile skill set, he seems to take a step backward in the playoffs and isn’t dependable when the game is on the line.
Minnesota trading Towns for multiple role players or another proven star might be the way to go, as the Timberwolves will want to get the most out of Edwards’ prime.
